Dr. Iyer Vijayan Gurumurthy (born 10 June 1964, Mayuram, India) is a distinguished Professional Engineer, Environmental Scientist, Academician, Researcher, and Consultant with over 40 years of experience in engineering, environmental science, education, and management. He is the Director of Techno-Economic-Environmental Study and Check Consultancy Services, Chennai, and has served in various prestigious positions including Professor, Dean, Principal, Research Supervisor, Guest Lecturer, and Consultant in several institutions in India and abroad. His academic qualifications include Diplomas in Mechanical Engineering, Production Management, and Automobile Engineering, AMIE (Mechanical Engineering), Bachelor of General Law, and a PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad, along with multiple post-doctoral and honorary doctoral distinctions. Dr. Gurumurthy has authored and edited more than 60 books and e-books, published over 362 research papers, and received more than 2,000 citations with an h-index of 50. He has delivered plenary and keynote lectures at international conferences in countries including China, Greece, Thailand, and Ethiopia, and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several reputed international journals. A Fellow and member of numerous professional organizations, he has been recognized with several prestigious awards such as the Bharat Jyothi Award, Rashtriya Ratna Award, Rashtriya Gaurav Award, and the Tamil Nadu Government Best Environmental Research Essay Award. His contributions to engineering, environmental sustainability, research, and higher education have earned him international recognition and listings in multiple editions of Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in Asia. Currently, he continues to contribute as a Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, Registered Valuer, Licensed Surveyor, researcher, author, reviewer, and academic mentor.
